These models and their associated performance information is research. It is valuable in that it shows the efficacy of the methods we employ in actual portfolios. The real world though is a lot messier than research and there will be differences in performance between these models and actual portfolios. We don’t report composite actual results because we don’t feel our client portfolios are sufficiently uniform to provide useful information to prospective clients. We run custom portfolios with multiple models in one account. 

The momentum models presented on the website are gross of fees with dividends and distributions reinvested. The individual stock models are presented net of a 1% management fee (our average clients pays a little less than that) with dividends and distributions paid in cash. The system we used to produce the results of the momentum models does not allow for the inclusion of a management fee. Further information about fees and costs can be found below.

This information should be taken for what it is – research. All we’re trying to show here is that the methods we use are logical and effective. We believe our research methods are sound but there is no way to predict whether these methods will continue to be effective in the future. We re-evaluate our methods on a regular basis but all investment methods go through periods of poor performance. It is impossible to predict when a method or system will stop working and for how long.
